The Project
Timescale was key for this project due to the end use as a Covid-19 ward.
Within 48 hours we had carried out a ground investigation and mobilised the site. As with most hospitals, the services running through the site were challenging and hand digging was required in several locations.
With a very tight site good housing keeping was key to maintaining access to the Accident & Emergency department for the ambulance crews, and general day to day operations of a working hospital.
Our scope of works was to design and install the pad foundations and provide all new service connections and drainage to the new modular building, reinstating the hard landscaping on completion.
All of the pads were cast and levelled in accordance with our engineer’s design, the drainage was in place and the site back to our client within the extremely tight timescales and on budget ready for them to install the ward facility, so it could be operational in the required timescale
