The Project
This project delivered a major fencing and access control project across three schools in the York area. The prject involved supplying and installing 2500 linear metres of fencing, along with 4 automated vehicle gates and 20 pedestrian gates. The projects had to be completed within a demanding five and half week programme.
Working across multiple school sites required careful coordination of materials, deliveries and labour to ensure that the works could progress efficiently while maintaining a safe and organised working environment. One of the main challenges was the short lead time for procuring and delivering the large quantity of materials required for the project.
With fencing, gates and associated equipment needed across three sites a significant delay in materials could have had a direct impact on the overall programme.
The project also required a substantial amount of installation work to be completed within the timeframe. This meant the team had to remain flexible and react quickly to changes in the programme.
Thanks to our strong relationships with our suppliers, we were able to secure the required materials within the necessary timescales. Through effective planning, strong supplier relationships and a flexible approach to resourcing, we successfully completed the project within the required timeframe.
